Exclamation Important Question . . .

OK, I know this may be graphic to some, but I need advice from a male point of view. The other night, I was waxing the small of my fiance's back when he told me that he wanted me to do his buttocks. I did them up both until where they meet (the crack ) when I noticed that I accidentally dripped wax in between ! I quickly when in and had to spread them to wipe the warm wax and I noticed that he had what looked like a bunch of bumps raised off by themselves. I know he has stomach problems and bleeds when he goes #2, so I'm thinking that maybe they're hemmoroids. If they're not hemmoroids, I would like to know if they are due to an STD - I know he has been with MANY women besides me. My question is how does one ask about these things without embarrassing or upsetting the other person?

Re: Important Question . . .

You say "When I had my finger inside your anus the other day, I felt a bunch of bumps and I am concerned about that. I know bumps in the anal tract aren't normal and I know you bleed a lot down there, so I was wondering if you were aware of the bumps or what they are. Are they hemmoroids and are there the source of your bleeding? Maybe you should see a doctor about it to find out what it is. I am only mentioning this because I care about you and I don't know if you are aware of the bumps in there.'

Simple. You are having sex with this guy - why be concerned or embarassed about a potential health issue?

Re: Important Question . . .

I did not have any of my digits ANYWHERE near "there". It was what I saw.

Re: Important Question . . .

Hemhorroids(sp?) are aweful! There are some that appear right where you described that are external because they don't get too deeply into the rectum. They burn, itch and make life very uncomfortable. It should't become a matter of embarrassing, I'm sure he knows he has them all you have to do is ask when the last time he saw a doctor about his problem. You are worried about him, rightfully so, I bet he'll say he hasn't been. I think a trip is justified as Prep-H probably won't do the trick right off. Get the prescription suppositorie, get them dowm to a manageable level, then Prep-H will control them. I think if it were something more serious, it wouldn't be visible like that and the damn hemorrhoids(sp?) are so common anyways. Have him get checked out.

Re: Important Question . . .

I know he's NEVER complained of itching, just bleeding occasionally during #2, but he attributes that to his ulcers. He REFUSES to go to a doctor for anything! He had a bad experience with doctors that left him partially blind in his left eye, 7-8 years ago, and hasn't been back since! He thinks they're a bunch of quacks ("Trapper John") that want nothing more than your money. If he has a cut or something like that which would require stitches, he brushes it off and puts superglue & duct tape over it; a few days later & he's fine!
