Me and my partner were getting down to having sex together (first time for me) but I simply COULD NOT get an erection. What is this about? I really could not get one, no matter how hard I was trying (over 15 minutes). It was a complete disaster. I sort of had one and slightly penetrated her but it went away within seconds and it was all back to square one for another 5 minutes before I called it a day.

Why was this? Will it happen the next time? I'm so scared for future times. Some things taht might be of use to note - I am 18, it was my first time, we were drinking beforehand (but not to extremes at all). I was nervous before she came up but nerves seemed to die away when we were sitting. That was until it came to having sex. God I was **** scared!

What happened and will it happen again? I am scared to have sex again because of it. I can get erections ANY other time! Why not at the right time?? HELP!

The simple answer is performance anxiety. If you really deep down inside feel that the person or situation was not right there could also be guilt mixed in with that.

When you are relaxed and every thing is everything is in order you will most likely not have a problem.

I wasn't going out with this girl or anything we were just friends.

And I really wanted to do it but deep down I knew I wasn't attracted to her and felt so nervous, scared, anxious.

For now though, I will be waiting until I am ready. It's not worth doing it with someone you don't feel special with - and I learned that the hard way. You won't enjoy the experience. I'm just going to have to be patient.

Does this sort of thing happen with other people?

Sometimes you need to experience things for yourself though and see what you make of it cos everyone's different. I actually posted that about an hour after it all happened but I've had plenty of time to think about it and I'm OK with it all.
