Question A question for you guys!

Hi all, I have been going out with my boyfriend for a year and a half. In that year and a half I think we had intercourse maybe five times. He is able to get an erection but then he looses it, but when it comes to oral sex, he can ejaculate just fine. He is 50 years old and he wasn't on any medication when I met him, he is now on high blood pressure medication but it is still the same. I know he isn't cheating on me and he is not gay. He does drink beer but how come he can ejaculate only orally. He claims it is from surgery he had on his testicals years ago but he has told me he used to be able to do it after the surgery, then he tells me he is afraid he won't please me. It makes me think I turn him off yet he says thats not true. We are so much in Love we are supposed to get married in a year. Is it my fault? Has anyone heard of this happening to a 50 year old man?
Thank You, Please Help. I'm confused?

Re: A question for you guys!

This could be several things. First, the meds may have some impact. Second, he could be nervous and have some performance anxiety and if that is the case, he may be afraid it won't work and he's saving himself the embarassment. As we age our erections may lose some rigidity and may be more difficult to obtain and achieve..however, 50 is awful early. Sometimes alcohol will cause erection problems but only when we're under the influence. Does he have any other medical problems, (eg Diabetes)? I suspect that the oral is just a much different type of stimulation and that is why he is successful there. Sure wish there was an easy answer....those are the only things I can come up with though.

Re: A question for you guys!

I suspect the blood pressure medication may have an effect. Oral gives quite a bit different stimulation than intercourse. Maybe he has more feeling in oral than in intercourse so he is able to maintain the erecton and ejaculation better. He should check with his doctor about the blood pressure medication and also it may be time to try Viagra. Viagra will give him a very hard erection most likely.

Re: A question for you guys!

Medications do not know whether a partnerís mouth is in use, or some other part of the body.

Never forget that sex is primarily a brain game, not a physical one. If he is physically able to maintain an erection and ejaculate, the mechanical and physiological mechanisms are working.

It's hard to say what's early and what's not. Everyone's different. I wouldn't make a normative statement. Blood pressure itself can cause difficulties.

Re: A question for you guys!

According to the information provided, he appears to be able to both get and maintain an erection through ejaculation. It is only through specific acts that this does not work. Medicines do not appear to be inhibiting the physiology of the process.

Re: A question for you guys!

Sorry to butt in guys, but depending on what time of day you take the meds and what time of day you have sex, the meds may be an issue. Are you trying at different times of day and that's why he can get off during oral and not intercourse? I would have him at least mention it to the doctor.

Sure. And it's absolutely not your fault. I'm fifty plus on high bld pres meds happily married to love of life but there are times no matter how much I want to I can't get off. Don't take it personally, we're not 21 anymore.
