if someone is suffering from the delayed ejaculation side-effect on ssri's, is there the same amount of sexual sensation as always, just without the big finish OR is the delayed ejaculation due to a numbness?
thanks!

Reason: question rephrased to conform to the special rules of the Sexual Health boards.
I am suffering from SSRI delayed ejaculation. For me, I go kinda numb. At first the sensation is there but it doesn't take long before it is numb. This also happens before ejaculation. I think it is ready and then it is gone. Very frustrating indeed.
Periactin (Cyproheptadine) for ssri delayed/no ejaculation
I'm the same, feeling comes and just when you think all dies down. (Getting me down at the same time)
I'm gonna try Cyproheptadine (if my doc will prescribe it), which has some good reports. Apparantely you take it an hour before sex and it temporarily stops whatever chemicals the ssris release delaying/retarding your orgasm.

It's an Antihistamine.
Anyone tried this
Glenzo, this is what we had talked about on another thread. Have you tried it yet? I have the med, but I have not had that opportunity to try it yet, but hope to tonight. Of course I am female, but having the SSRI delayed/no orgasm problem too as I stated before.

What are you doing to help the problem?
This is what happens to me and i'm not even on SSRIs.... THATS frustrating! And i wish somebody could help, but these threads get so many views and so little answers
They can kill the sex urge completely & may take months to get it back after quiting the pills. Some are much worse than others.
Actually, the Lexapro has not affected my drive at all - it's still as strong as ever - it's just the big finish, like someone else said here.
On another note, I did try the Periactin last night and it felt really great, but still didn't orgasm. Part of the reason was that my husband was having problems sustaining erection, even with two Levitra! He's on Prozac, so we have the double whammy!!
It should NOT have to be like this! The SSRI's make us feel better, but pretty much kill sex for us.
