Hoping someone here can help me.....
(If you don't have the time to read this long post)
Can you tell me how long before Testosterone replacement patch (androderm 5mg) starts to work?
When I met my husband 20 months ago the first time we tried
to have sex, he could not get an erection. He said it had
never happened to him before. He was 42.
I was VERY understanding, told him it didn't
matter...etc.....
He went to a urologist and they did bloodwork that showed
he had low testosterone. He brushed it off.
He refused replacement therapy as he had been a
weightlifter and had done anabolic steroids, and said
replacement therapy was the same thing.
He ordered viagra and cialas off the Internet.
Yes, it helped at times (sometimes only semi erect) with
him getting an erection but as the months went on, it
didn't work as well.
What changed the most was the man who was a kind,
sweet...laughing, joking, playful and fun person, changed
into a bitter angry cruel old man, who was always tired,
always complaining and tired. He cries VERY easily
In the last year he lost his mother to cancer,(Jan) we got
married, bought a new home and then his dad died 9 months
(Oct.)after his Mom. Our marriage has turned into HELL.
Finally he went to a psychologist. and was diagnosed
chronically depressed.
He was being treated with Welbutrin. It did NOT help...If
anything things have gotten worse!!!!!!
I have tried my best to be compassionate and understanding
for months now. Over and over I am verbally and emotionally
abused. Its horrible.
FINALLY after almost begging, he agreed to go to a DOCTOR
who told him his testosterone was VERY low. 240, I think is
what he said.
He told him stop taking the welbutrin and put him on the
androderm 5 mg patch. He said he felt this would show him
a "100% improvement".
He had an appointment with his Psychologist, right after.
He told him that the Dr had taken him off the welbutrin and
about the issue of low testosterone.
His psychologist ask him " how do YOU feel about this".He
also told him next week he wants my husband to go thru
more " psychological assessment tests"
From what my husband said , I think his psychologist,
thinks its more then just depression. And its more then low
testosterone.
I have went with him for counseling several times and we
talked about our marriage and the problems we were having
After a 22 year marriage (NO abuse whatso ever) I was
divorced then met this wonderful man I THOUGHT I
knew......we married after 11 months. And it has now turned
into a nightmare!
I am truly lost here. My marriage is almost over. Could it
just be the low testosterone, that is causing this man I
love to be like this?
How long before I will possibly start seeing the man I knew
before?
How long does it take before the patches start
working....Or am I grasping at straws here?
Sorry so long...
