Vericocele

Hi All,
Doctor says I have a vericocele. I've decided to have it removed. im not stressing out at all over it. but im curious, does vericocele have any effects on a person physically? sperm count, sperm volume, testicle health, penis and erectile health? all seem in check but just curious

many thanks

Re: Vericocele

From what I understand a vericocele [sp] can have an effect on the sperm count becuase the testicle is kept warmer by the amount of blood in the area. It will have no effect on the erection but may affect fertility.

Re: Vericocele

pantheon,

how are you doing? I believe i might have a vericocele problem but i have more symptoms then related with vericocele when i researched it on the internet. To answer your question, vericocele reduces sperm count, as 40% of infertal men have vericocele.

I'm wondering if you experience more symptoms then just the bag of worms feeling and sharp pain in testicle? I experience pain that extends into my leg and to the left of the penis base and even extends up the shafts of the penis on the left side. i also have a lump on my testicle which is painful.

I had it checked by the doc and then refered to a urologist and then just gaven anti-inflammatories which didnt help.

do you experience similar pains as me? what surgery are you having done? the embolization surgery (less evasive vericocele surgery) or the traditional vericocele surgery (cutting the scotum open and tying off the bad viens)?

hope to hear from you soon:)
