It's normal for the glans of intact males to be more brightly coloured than those of circumcised males. The thin skin covering the glans and inner foreskin is a mucus-membrane not designed to be exposed all the time. In circumcised males this skin thickens (or keratinises) because of constant exposure to rubbing on clothes etc and changes the colour. Guys who are circumcised as adults usually find they go through a period of extreme sensitivity until this happens.
So I think you are probably normal, especially if there is no smell or any itchiness. The only way you could tell is to see a doctor or look at pictures of normal intact males with their skin retracted. There are non-porn pictures on some information sites on the net but I can't direct you there under the rules of this site. It is possible that you have an infection but it is hard to know what sort of infection that could be and you could upset the natural balance or irritate your foreskin if you use antibiotic or antiseptic creams. Like I said I think it's probably normal but perhaps Lance could comment further,
Geoff
PS sometimes soap can cause irritation. Just plain water is usually enough to keep it clean and fresh.

Hi Octane. I think the reddness you observe on your glans and inner foreskin comes as a consequence of not retracting your foreskin and washing underneath till you were 15. The truth is that uncirumcised boys should be trained to do this at an early age to keep their penises clean but many parents find it too embarrassing to address. I was taught to do this from the age of about 5 and consequently have never had a foreskin issue. The glans should be washed and dried with a towel at every shower. There is a natural drying out of the glans and inner foreskin that occurs from regular retraction.

Perhaps you could try wearing your foreskin retracted during the day. At first this will feel uncomfortable, but I believe it will eventually help with the reddness as the skin toughens up and dries a little. I can assure you there will be no loss of sensitivity if you do this and you will be able to cover the glans at any time if you choose. I don't think there is any cream that would be of help to you.

I once had some foreskin irritation that I couldn't kick regardless of what I tried... Must have been 5 different creams over the course of 6 months (I have always washed under there).

I even had a doctor give up and reccomend circumcision. Finally at a walk in clinic an elderly English doctor reccomended the same that captainhoneycut just did because bacteria grow in dark moist areas. Unfortunately I was never able to get mine to stay retracted... So I got creative.... I bought a hair dryer and after showering I used it on the cool setting to completely dry all areas under the foreskin. Within a week or two the irritation was gone.
