Thank goodness my boyfriend doesn't read these boards!
Ok, well, for those guys who don't mind advising, thanks so much --
My better half is 49 years young and we've been together 2 years.
Thing is, I'm not sure whether to be concerned about his penis size, or not. He says when he was younger, it was 6 inches when aroused. But now it's only about 3.5 to 4 inches when aroused. He recognises he's small, but I'm wondering if there might be a real medical problem, or whether it's just shrinkage due to age?
Any ideas?

Hi Zagreus, thanks for replying. Yes, he has put on a little weight in his 40's and now has a little belly on him but he doesn't just appear smaller, he actually IS smaller. I don't know if this is normal, or something to be concerned about.
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
i dont know that suxs has he taken pills to make it bigger? I dont have that prob and im 32 but mine has never gotten smaller at all maybe bigger. I wish u 2 the best. Can he satisfy you with it?
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
If his blood circulation has been imparied, it could reduce both the size and hardness of erection. As was also pointed out, if he is overweight, the pelvic fat pad can reduce the apparent length by several inches. Especially if he is not real firm and if his girth has been reduced, he should she a doctor for a full checkup, telling the doctor about his significantly reduced size. Some loss of size with advancing age is normal, but this seems excessive. Perhaps something like Viagra will help but, if he is geting some clogged arteries, he may need to be on special drugs and a low fat diet. I think the important thing to rule out by having a physical is potential heart disease.
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
I think I read somewhere that the average size is about 4 inches. Since you've only been with him for 2 years, you never experienced the 6 inches he speaks of. Maybe it's his story because he's feeling inadequate in the size department. If you are both satisfied, size shouldn't matter. "IF" there's evidence that it continues to be getting smaller, then you've got a medical problem. All guys are worried about their size, the same way women are concerned about the size of their anatomy.
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
Thanks for your replies, guys. I kind of felt like I was intruding on the mens board.
Well, he is a fit and active man and eats very sensibly and healthily, usually. He is currently trying to lose his little belly he's gained, so I guess we shall see if losing weight makes any difference. He is very aware he's got smaller "down there", so maybe it's turned into a bit of a psychological thing for him, as well, if he perhaps feels a bit inadequate. (Which he really isn't.) He always makes jokes about himself and his size. Maybe it plays on his mind more than he likes to let on..
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
I always thought it was the technique and not the size of the manhood that was the determination factor of pleasure vs unsatisfied. I doubt there has been a shrinking issue but just an altered perception. Men come in all shapes and sizes, it is best to just be satisified with what you have rather than dwell on how big or firm it could or should be just for your own sake.
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
Well i don't know, he swears he was 6 inches when younger, so I don't know what could have happened to the missing 2.5 to 3 inches. I'm more inclined to think about the weight gain factor at present, as I know he isn't as trim as he once was.
But what I've found out so far on here, is losing that much in length isn't normal, which was what I wondered.
Keil.. funny you mention the shaving thing, as we have joked about doing that before, to make him appear bigger.
Daphnee.. He fully accepts the way he is and makes out like it's not a worry for him, although I know he would rather have a bit more down there.. like.. another 3 inches. It's ok saying size doesn't matter, but to most, it does, whether they admit to it or not.
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
Lostinreality.. thanks, i hadn't thought of that. Also, it takes him a long long time before he can ejaculate, during sex. I mean we're talking well over an hour. I'm wondering if this now could be connected to the size issue and, as you suggested, hormone levels.
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
He should see a Uroligest (bad Spell) I know he refuses to see a Doc but this subject is something "near & dear" to every guy!!!!!!
You must try your best to get him to go....

Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
I read in some men's health book that dropping thirty pounds can add 1.5 to 2 inches to the length -- and I know when I dropped about 60 lbs several years ago I was significantly longer. I think weight could well be the issue here -- ain't middle age grand?
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
well, something's clearly impeding on his health. when you two are making luv, is he truly erect? or would you say there's a lack of bloodflow and he seems semi-erect?
perhaps he has a vice that you're not aware of? liquor/tobacco/junk food/etc. some ppl are more sens'tive to such obstacles.
definitely talk to him about seeing a doctor. losing 2 inches of length isn't normal in any scenario outside of marrying a Bobbit.

My erect size is 4.5 inches, soft its just 2 inches. I don't shave it all for fear of looking like a 12 y/o! I do keep it trim.
As for the size matters issue... I also accept its small and laugh along with the women when they do. I also fully understand that it would matter to most women.

Where did you read that!! I'm 4 1/2 inches and consider it small and so do the women I've been with. It doesn't bother me so much that they say its small cause after all, it is!!
Re: Woman seeking advice about boyfriend's penis size
if he was 6 and now is 3-4.5 then i would think the rest is a nice belly.... i have lost a couple of pounds and now i think i am HUGE.... have him try if he is worried... losing weight also help the stemina... etc etc etc
In some articles I've read "average" is 6", in others it's 5" and did also read that it's 4", some place. I'm not sure how small ya have to be to have a micropenis, however.
Do you think genes play a role in determining what size men's undercarriages are going to turn out?
jv109, you ain't doing too badly with 4.5.. see.. now you know you are bigger than some men's!
Do any of you think that his awareness of his size could be affecting him physically, when erect? If he feels indequate and worries it's not going to satisfy his partner, perhaps it's not umm.. not reaching its full potential when aroused?
I haven't brought any of this up with him because I don't want him to feel it's a big issue (or small, as the case may be) and possibly make him feel worse. I'm hoping he'll lose his little belly and then see if that helps.
I do think all this gets him down, no matter how much he laughs about himself being "hung like a hamster".
Sheesh, wish I could be a guy for a day, so I could understand it all better.

Of course 6" is considered the standard. I've also read about 5" being the average. I'm curious though where you read about 4" being average, average for what?? Micropenis is usually 3" or less.
Not "too badly", hmmm... I guess that means just a little bad? And I don't care about being bigger than others. Just want to have enough to please a woman and not have her say "it may be small, but ...." or "size doesn't matter" Size may not matter if its 6"-8" long. Oh and its only 2" when soft!
