Arrow is it possible for guys to masturbate too much and then not want to have sex?

my boyfriend and i have been dating for almost 9 months, but we have been fooling around for roughly 3 years. when we weren't dating, we'd only have sex every other month or so, sometimes more, sometimes less. he moved into my dorm last year, and we didn't have much more sex than we used to when we lives separately. even after we started dating, sex did not occur too much more frequently. i know there hasn't been cheating, and when we weren't dating, i know he hadn't been with other girls (i am the only one he's been with.)

when we moved back to the dorms this year, we were having sex more often (AKA: 1-3 times per week.) as the semester has gone on, we've been having less sex, and it's usually after we've been drinking. we see each other every day, and at night we always cuddle over TV before bed and either make-out or give massages, but i think we're both too exhausted to get physical when we have to be up in a few short hours. this shouldn't be a problem on the weekends though, but it seems to be!

he masturbates routinely every day (sometimes twice), and i guess i'm just wondering if this could be a big reason as to why we're not more physical. or, is it possible that he may not like sex that much? he mentioned something about sex not always doing it for him, but i know he enjoys himself when we do have sex (and by the way, he's not the least bit femme- very much a manly man, haha....)

is this a completely weird situation?? i am totally crazy for him, and it doesn't completely bother me that we aren't more physical, but sometimes i wished we were, and i'm too shy to initiate (or i worry that, if he's not in the mood, i don't want to force anything on him!! haha, how ironic....) so guys, do you ever just not feel like having sex? especially if you mastubate often??? any input would be appreciated

Most guys would much rather have sex with a real live girl than masturbate. A man that masturbates that frequently where there is a willing woman present indicates there is a problem that needs to be talked about. I have no idea what the "issues" might be, but I highly suggest you two talke about it openly.

Yes, it's possible.

And if variety is more important to a male than a loving committed relationship with a perfectly attractive female,

then fantasy/porn , or even affairs, could take precedence over a more committed relationship.

Familiarity breeds contempt if one lets it.

If people think of sex as the 'ultimate glue' that holds a relationship together, they will soon enough be disappointed, and disillusioned.

Over masturbation can definately lead to a loss of sex drive, and one can even get used to masturbating so that the person might crave that as opposed to sex. With sexuality anything and everything is possible. You should ask him to stop masturbating to see if there is a problem, and you should read some of the online articles on over-masturbation and see if he fits some of the sypmtoms good luck.
