Does Zinc really help?

I'm 20/m. I suffer from low sex drive and troubles with erections sometimes. Some say Zinc 30mg a day would help. Is that true?

Re: Does Zinc really help?

I doubt it will heop your particular problem, but having zinc in the diet is good for long term prostate health.

Re: Does Zinc really help?

zinc also helps, because it stops males from converting testosterone to estrogen, as they typically do when they get older and put on weight.

Re: Does Zinc really help?

Is 22.5mg daily enough? The product I got only has that much zinc per tablet.

Re: Does Zinc really help?

Good question. I started taking it when my sex drive was non-existent. It worked amazingly well. I went on cipro for a prostate infection, and had to go off the zinc.
My hormones have been swinging...from very excitable, to wanting sex, but not able to ejaculate, to delayed ejaculation. I'm done with the cipro, and going back on the zinc.
The bottom line is, I can't give you a whole answer.

How soon should I expect to see any improvements, if any?

Re: Does Zinc really help?

what is the difference between Zinc and Zinc (Citrate)

I am currently taking 10mg of Zinc/day.. but the Zince (Citrate) was much higher, but I didn't know what Citrate meant.

Re: Does Zinc really help?

This is from a dictionary, "citrate: a salt or ester of citric acid".

Re: Does Zinc really help?

Hmm, wonder what that means... they add salt for some reason?
