Question Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

I'm 20/virgin/have been masturbating once a day. In the past 6 months I've been having difficulty getting or maintaining an erection. I also tend to have low libido in the days that I can't get an erection. What is weird is that, in the past 2 years, which means this existed well before I started having erection problems, there's been a sexual cycle going on in me. 2-5 days in a row out of maybe 2-4 weeks, I have a stronger libido and indescribably better erections. I call those days my "horny days." Of course I thought it was normal because I was still able to get hard in other days. But since 6 months ago when I started to experience difficulties, those days have become the only times I could get really hard and last long to masturbate, though I still ejaculate with a semi-hard penis in other days. I'm just totally off. I have ruled out factors such as stress, health, the porn I watch, how turned on I am etc. because they are basically constant. I mean in horny days pulling off my pants and touching my penis or just thinking about porn is enough to make me rock hard. And this cycle is just too regular: it comes in a certain interval and I can't make it last or change the pattern. It doesn't matter if I masturbate 4 times a day or don't do it at all in those days. Also the horny days are continuous i.e. it wouldn't be like, one day I'm horny, the next I'm not, and then the next day I'm horny again. It just never changed its pattern. Not even once.

I've gotten my testosterone and thyroid checked and everything is normal. I've been taking zinc and multi-vitamins with no results. The only thing I think could explain it is hormonal imbalance or disorder, like I have high hormone level in horny days so I get horny and erections last. It's a biological cycle sorta like a woman would experience (weird I know). But the doctor said that wasn't possible...that hormones can't fluctuate like that. I don't know. Nobody could explain it. I myself know it's physical. I mean hey this cycle has been there for two years and even before I became impotent!

Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

I'm 17 and suffer from the exact same problem.

The quality of my erection seems to have greatly diminished. It never seems properly hard like it used to be, especially at the glans (area near head), where it's especially soft and short- lasting. It seems to lack the same sensitivity/ feeling that it used to have, it just feels numb. As well as crap erections I also have many other symptoms (pelvic/ penile/ testicular pain, split flow urination, incomplete urination, general muscle aches, digestive difficulties etc). This problem is greatly depressing - and it seems no doctors or anyone can help. Modern medicine fails me completely ! These problems are fairly common (a fair amount of people complain of the same things - just look through some of these boards), but little to no help or treatment is available, therefore I continue to feel like crap - !

There are some (rare) days where my erection is decent, not as hard as it used to be but still fairly hard. But most of the time i'm seemingly half impotent. As far as causes go I'm not sure, maybe something is messing with the blood flow - nerve damage/ prostatitis - ? Maybe all of my symptoms are caused by poor balance of good/ bad bacteria in the gut, therefore allowing candida to mess with my system, causing all sorts of damage. There is a theory of over masturbation causing impotence and other such problems , but that's probably a load of BS. Are my problems 'purely psychological'? No chance, I'm not falling for that BS, there are some deep rooted problems with my sexual functioning and health in general, even if 'experts' (LOL) fail to recognise them.

Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

Overmasturbation, forget it. There is no such thing, unless you are down to engaging in zero social activities. I had a prostate infection. Once it was cleared up with a long period of cipro (I think it was 20 days), I still had a lot of symptoms, like urinary immediacy, actually wetting myself slightly (very unsettling). It was a yeast infection of the prostate, I am almost certain, though the urologist never suggested anything of the kind. I started taking (allegedly) odorless garlic pills, eating yogurt with active acidophilus cultures, and eating fresh ginger root, daily. Tough stuff, but it cleared things right up. I had to do it for months. Yeast (candida) can raise havoc with your whole body. I hadn't breathed through my nose for decades, but with the garlic and ginger, my sinuses cleared well. I also had a mild but chronic shoulder pain which I thought was bursitis, and that disappeared with the yeast. I thought I simply had a horrible digestive system, with bloating, gas, and loose BMs, but that went away as well. Western medicine does not talk about yeast much, especially chronic, systemic infections of it, but Eastern medicine does. This was one of the best health experiments I ever tried.

Unhappy Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

I do not have other symptoms besides impotency...and my penis is perfectly normal in the horny days I describe. Phychological stuff is def BS. I haven't seen anyone whose erections fluctuate as mine though...I feel like I'm doomed. I can never break away from the cycle. I used to look forward to those horny days. I don't anymore, because they go away after a few days anyways.

I'd say it's hormonal. Really, at your age that could be possible. Don't become discouraged by this. If you're truly worried you should see your family doctor.

Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

Thanks a lot for your reply. I did see my family doctor and he gave me that psychological bs...So do you think it's normal to have problems like this at my age? What might it be?

I'm not a man but I'm trying to understand why you would think that you have to MB every day? Why not just MB when you are horny? Nothing says that you have to be horny every single day? Right?

I don't need to MB every day, but that's what I used to do. Now I'm no good at doing it because my penis can't get hard enough 80% of the time. It's the cycle I described. It's not a matter of my MB frequency.

If women only want/wanted sex like 3 times in a period of 3 or 4 weeks, then I wouldn't consider myself impotent.

You might just need an actual girl to have sex with. Maybe by masturbating every day, you've become desesitized to mental images or whatever. It's like anything...if you are constantly doing it then it'll probably lose it's fun factor.

Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

Maybe, but what could explain the numbness, the cycle and the lack of morning erections?

Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

The lack of morning erections and the cycle are what confuses me the most.

Please any comments/similar experiences/suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

ddh33,
i am 21 and the more i think about it, the more i wonder if i was ever (since i've been active - age 18) 100% healthy sexually. i finally mustered the courage to see a urologist last month and he said i was fine and was just worrying about things. he tested for testosterone, which came out fine and diabetes (negative). you might want to get one of those tests. i think maybe i didn't explain things well enough to him and it seemed like he was less knowledgable in the specific area of the field i've been looking into. (i.e. i mentioned herbal solutions and he said that most of those don't do much better than placebo). i know that is false from experience and i've come across urologists who wrote entire books on non-viagra solutions. i like the way you put it, "half-impotent". i might go back to a urologist just so i can use that phrase. i mean, i can get hard, and since i've been taking supplements, i can usually get really hard at times, but it's not steady and doesn't last long, like it comes and goes. there's a book that i recently found that got a gamut of ratings. the people who gave it bad reviews said it was too obvious (diet, exercise, sleep are healthy for you) but he has a six week plan that seems guaranteed. it's called the hardness factor. i've read about 30 pages online and it seems like it's catered towards guys of our age. hope this helps. oh one other thing, i recently got my cholesterol tested. young guys like us, always on the run, fried food, no vegatables, etc. my total cholesterol is about 115 and a little over half of it is LDL, the "bad" cholesterol. i'm currently trying to figure out if this could be the problem. sorry if this was a little long, but you seem anxious for advice. cheers and good luck!

(p.s. two other books that are looking promising are "Natural Penis Enlargement: New methods of avoiding and curing impotence, premature ejaculation, and erectile dysfunction safely and inexpensively. NEW Secrets that your doctor won¿t tell you, No Pumps, No Pills and No Gadgets!" and "Scientifically Guaranteed Male Multiple Orgasms and Ultimate Sex: Restart natural penis enlargement, Eliminate forever premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, impotence and Enjoy daily orgasms". i know books aren't probably what you had in mind, but i've tried so many herbal pills that i'm almost positive there is something wrong with this 21-year-old average-size body. however, if you're interested in herbal pills, i can give you the only accurate review you'll find on the internet. haha!)

Re: Weird sex problem...what could explain this?

Thanks for the input. I greatly appreciate it. I might consider herbs if there still doesn't seem to be any improvements. The fact that I don't get much morning erection, which I used to get every morning, really worries me.

I did get my testosterone tested. It was fine. So were diabetes and cholesterol. I'm in no way under much stress...I eat healthy. I'm Chinese and I eat LOTS of vegetables and not much junk. The only negative thing is I don't really exercise except walking to school and home...

So what are your symptoms? If you read my post carefully enough you'd see what I mean by half-impotent: I do get ROCK HARD but only on certain continuous days. There is this cycle. Now it's been a little over 4 weeks since the last one...I'll see if it still comes back. I know I'm still pretty aroused by some kinds of porn, but my penis will get limp very quickly...I still have the horny feeling but it doesn't work. This drives me nuts.

I just wish those horny days come back soon so I could get it all out.
