Testosterone Treatment

Due to a long illness, I was effectively chemically castrated and my male hormone levels fell so low they were literally off the charts. I have been having testosterone supplementation now for about six months at 2.5 mg a day, yet not only do I notice no improvement in sex drive from it, but I am even experiencing exactly the opposite of the intended effect -- a reduction of sex drive! If I felt about 5% of my noirmal sex drive before treatment, I have felt absolutely 0% since starting the treatment. A few weeks of treatment at 5 mg a day also made no difference. Has anyone else had this experience with testosterone treatment?

Re: Testosterone Treatment

you are taking 5 mg of what? Are you having your T and E2 levels checked? It is possible for T to actually drop intially if your dose of T replacement is not high enough. This is not uncommon. But you should be having your levels checked frequently at first so you can adjust your dose appropriately. Keep in mind also what is happening is your testicles are shutting down due to the externally supplied T and they will shrink and you will be essentially sterile unless you take HCG with your T replacement.
