Does this make any sense?

I posted before about how my new boyfriend can get hard at the beginning of sex but can't stay hard for very long. Its very frustrating and we have never actually achieved orgasm because of this. Anyway, we were talking about it, and about what could be causing this and for some reason he seems to think it might be because he used to masterbate alot. this makes no sense to me and i was wondering if anyone else could shed some light. also, i think he should go talk to a doctor but he says he's too embarrassed. Is there anything the doctor can even give him for this (he's 20) or would they just say something like change your diet?

Re: Does this make any sense?

I'm 20 and have erection problems too. I've seen 4 internists and one urologist. Of them, two said it was purely psychological (which was really a load of BS in my case, but that could be it for your bf) and did nothing. One was leaning towards psychological causes too but agreed to check my hormones and send me to the uro I'm seeing now. Another one tried to help figure out physical causes too..

I know there's probably more docs that would say it's psychological when you're only 20. But don't give up if it's in fact physical or apparently so.

Can he masturbate alright? How about morning erections? If he answers yes to both it's most likely psychological (stress, anxiety, etc).
