androgel -vs- shots which is better? getting dizziness with gel
I was doing shots for a few months but heard that androgel was better because it gives you a daily consistent dose of T. I have been on the androgel for 3 days and am having dizziness. Does this go away or should I discontinue? I had better luck with the shots but am wondering should I give it some time for this to pass?
Re: androgel -vs- shots which is better? getting dizziness with gel
I never had dizziness while on androgel. Is it one of the listed side effects? Which is better is different for each person so there really is not a good answer. Theoretically you should convert less T to estradiol with the gel but some experience the opposite. You will get a more consistent T level with the gel. For me, androgel never worked consistently well. I mean it kept my T level up to the 500's typically but I still had long periods of low libido and ED which were hormone related. Many on the shots prefer them because they are less hassel......they only need to dose once or twice a week versus every day and for some twice a day.

I get my shot once evey two weeks from the doctor, and I haven't had a problem. He told me that there was a study concluding that may make it easier as I'll only need a shot every four months!
Re: androgel -vs- shots which is better? getting dizziness with gel
I'm not aware of the shot every 4 months.
I use the gel but I have never, ever had dizziness. At first the gel was like a god-send, but now, as my other post indicates, it's not that great, but still better than it used to be.
I'd talk to your doc, but you might want to see if the dizziness goes away. I've never really had any side effects except the softer testicles.

I went from androgel to injections.
I prefer the self injections twice a week at 50mg each. I use a 29ga 1/2" needle on a 1cc syringe. It is an insulin syringe. Takes about 30 second to fill & another 30 seconds to inject.
This gives a smooth level of T & little if any E2 conversion.
