Did anybody here ever have a bump in the anal area?

Did it simply go away and not cause problems anymore or did it turn into something serious? I ask myself wether every kind of bump in the anal area has to be something dangerous and will turn into a fistula, or can you also have "normal" cysts in this area which can be popped and then bleed like cysts which you also get on other areas? Or is anything like this in the anal area automatically dangerous?
I thought that you only get a fistula from a real abscess and a real abscess is not the same as a bump. Is anybody here who can answer this?

Do not squeeze or "pop" an abcess or other area near the anus. If it is something that stays around for more than a few days and/or it is tender and inflammed, you need to go to the doctor and have it lanced.

Lanced? And what happens then?

In my case the bumps went away after a few days and after applying fucidine.
Is it okay then?

Whoa, steady up here. Are you sure these lumps are not just piles (Hemorrhoids)?

If you get symptoms like pain, bleeding, lumps around the anus, and inside the anus, pain when having a bowel movement you could just be suffering from piles.

You need to make the correct diagnosis before worrying about it. Piles are generally blood vessels that get caught either outside the anal muscles or are slightly prolapsed (collapsed) a bit like a hernia. Sometimes you can push them back inside which relieves the pain and then apply cream to reduce them. The first step would be to try over the counter topical creams from the chemists. If after a few days to a week they have not gone, then maybe you need something stronger from the doctor. If you have a bad reoccurring case of this then the doctor may choose the reduce them in the surgery for you or if they are really bad you will require an operation.

Re: Did anybody here ever have a bump in the anal area?

No, I do not mean hemorrhoids. I am talking about pimples and such things.
I wonder if every pimple in the anal area can turn into something dangerous.
I don't understand it. I have pimples on my upper back all the time. They hurt and the skin becomes tender but they don't cause anything. But in the anal area it seems to be different. Why?
Why is a pimple there more dangerous? Nobody gets a fistula in the face for example even though many have pimples in the face. So where is the difference?
