I always seem to release some sort of precum after I ejaculate. My questions are:

-is this normal? if so, what purpose does it serve?
-and is there anything I can do to prevent it?

You have several inches of urethra in your penis, and several more inches inside of you. As the erection goes down, there is less room, and some of the semen is squeezed out. If you want to get rid of it, you can either pee after ejaculating, or take a finger and thumb, and milk it from the base to the head.
