I dont think your morning erections should have anything to do with performance anxiety. I think the anxiety thing is something completely different. I have heard as men get older their morning erections decrease. Mine did some, but I'm 42 and still have them very frequently.
Try not to worry about it.
Once in my 20's I lost my sex drive altogether for a while. Then as suddenly as it left it returned full force. Seems like sometimes the body, or the sexual aspects of it take a break sometimes.
I don't think that all men have morning erections. My BF whom I've lived with for 8 years does not get one hardly every. He said he's always been like that. He use to be a body builder not that they are related in anyway but he use to be hard core where at times he'd take testosterone and it still didn't matter. He's never had a problem getting hard when the time was right.
EDIT he'll be 34 next month

Hey, I've read in Men's Health magazine, and other health books, that all men have morning erections! Mostly while we are sleeping at night. That's if you're healthy with out any problems.
I think yours have just tapered off/stopped by the time you awake. I'm 48 and I still wake up with one. Not every morning, but most. Sometimes it only last a few minutes, sometimes just 30 seconds, long enough for me to get to the toilet, and then it's gone. I use to think it was just because I had to urinate, but I've learned that's not true, because there are those morning when you have to pee really bad, and theres know erection present. So, long story short, if you asked a doctor he would ease your mind by telling you that you're okay, and yes you still get morning erections, you just don't have any by the time you wake.
