Small cut on scrotum! Please help me!

I was trimming my pubic hair about 10-15 minutes ago and I accidentally cut my scrotum with a small pair of scissors. It is a very small cut and its only about a 1 CM-2 CM in length. I put neosporin on it for a while until the bleeding stopped and it doesn't hurt. Its already closed up. But i've heard about scrotum infections and what happened is making me have somewhat of a panic attack. I am desperate to get some sort of feedback on whether you think I will be okay, if I should go to the hospital, or what I should do. Thank you.

I'm not a guy so obviously I have no direct experience with this, but I wouldn't be freaking out so much if I were you. Treat it the same as a cut on your finger - keep it clean and let it heal. It sounds like you did exactly what you should have done and as long as it doesn't get painful or red and it heals up properly, I don't think you would have any problems. A cut anywhere on your body can get infected if it isn't cleaned and treated properly.

Again though, I'm not a guy so that's just my opinion.

Re: Small cut on scrotum! Please help me!

Thank you so much for your feedback. Everything seems to be okay this morning. But it still worries me. I'm still putting neosporin on it and its covered by a bandage. Does anyone else have any feedback or advice. Thanks again.

Re: Small cut on scrotum! Please help me!

I dont think it will be a problem although it is a kinda long cut for a scrotum! It must have been a great surprise to you at the time!!!

It sounds like you are doing the right things, they only comment I would make is if it is 10 to 20 mm long that is almost as much as a vasectomy incision, and they stitch those. Given the way the skin of the scrotum changes and moves it may be tricky to make the edges close up and at the least you should try steristrips to close the wound and hold it together. If it is not healing properly go and get a stitch or two.
