Question Nicotine patch & 'poppers'?

We all know what the nicotine patch is so I don't feel I need to go into detail regarding that.

"Poppers", are an inhalent (amyl nitrate/nitrite) that has been used for decades (at least since the 60's) that are used as a sexual stimulant (to increase pleasure, etc) during sexual encounters (they are more popular with gay/bi men). They do raise the blood pressure temporarily (maybe a few minutes max with the big 'rush' being the first 30-60 seconds) and then decreases back to normal.

My question is is it safe to use poppers while on the nicotine patch? Poppers and viagra (and drugs alike) are a BIG no no as you can have a heart attack with the combination of both 'drugs', however I have yet to find any information online regarding popper use and the nicotine patch.

I have asked my doctor, heck he didn't even know what poppers were until I explained to him what they were. He said he didn't know.

Anyways if anyone could answer who knows what they are talking about I would appreciate it. As I have exhausted my search and don't know where else to turn too.

Thanks!

Re: Nicotine patch & 'poppers'?

hmm... well a nicotene patch is just putting the chemical in your blood instead of smoking and inhaling it. so unless they are putting anything else int hem I dont see the problem.

if you were smoking and had the nicoten in your system and took a popper and were ok then you should still be ok if you use a patch and popper. Most people dont know about poppers. Heck I didn't even hear of it until I started exploring my bi side and then never saw anyone use it until a couple of weeks ago.

LOL Bengie...

Well that makes scence what you said (about since I already smoke and I do poppers why would it matter with the patch)? My only concern is that the patch (starting with the highest dose) is 21MG's (although it's not all at once, it's a steady flow throughout the day). But I guess that makes scense what you said.

So how do you like them? Or have you not tried them yet?
