My erections are weak, help!

Hi,

I'm 26, pretty fit and healthy, although I do smoke. When I get an erection, its normally not very erect, ie. when standing up, my penis only sits at 90 degrees, and I have trouble maintaining it. Over the past few years, I ve used Vigra/Kamagra/Cialias as I ve been worried that my erection would not last the duration of sex, however I now realise that taking those pills is not a permanent solution.

Re: My erections are weak, help!

Some of what follows may sound silly. But here goes. A few questions for you to consider. It would be interesting to read your answers, but none are necessary. This is just intended as food for thought for you. How erect do you think your penis should be to be considered erect? Although mine curves up when it is fully erect, I'm not sure that this is necessary to be considered fully erect. All of us are different, as the posts to this website attest. 90 degrees sounds good to me. What are the circumstances when you lose your erection? How long does it stay erect? And, does the cause of the erection persist to warrant an erection, or does it go flaccid anyway? It sounds as though you have not had sex, yet? Is that correct? Have you at least been with a partner? Does that turn you on and lead to an erection? Have you at least made out, so to speak? Kissed? Necked? Petted? What kinds of things arouse you enough to lead to an erection in the first place? Maybe there just isn't enough stimulation to warrant an erection. Perhaps your level of testosterone is low. For me, for example, my first sign of sexual tension is a stirring in my testicles, primarily. This happens almost every day, unless I am sick or in a depressed mood. When that stirring exists, it only takes mild stimulation, which can be either physical or psychological, to lead to an erection. How long it lasts depends upon the stimulation and how long it exists. If I am distracted, by a knock at the door, a phone call, or what have you, I can go limp really quick. Hope this helps.

Re: My erections are weak, help!

Ok, in answer to those questions, I have had three long term relationships over the past few years. During the first of those, about 6 yrs ago, I found that I didn't always get a solid erections, and sometimes I would go flacid during intercourse/foreplay, and drinking any sort of alcholol before sexual activity was out the question.

So, following on from this, I decided that the best way to ensure I stayed hard was to take kamagra (a viagra alternative) before sex, which worked a treat, and meant I had great sex, although I didn't tell my partner at the time I was using it. I was worried that if I didn't use it that I wouldn't be able to perform properly. I did the same with my most recent partner, which probably contributed to the end of that relationship, since sex was very rarely spontaneous.

So here I am today, I've relaised that taking viagra equivalents is not the way forwards, as it doesnt really treat anything. I have found that when sitting, I can get a much harder and more erect penis than when standing up or lying down.

I am still worried that I would not be able to keep it up for the whole duration. I would really like to be super confident about the whole thing, but I'm not.

Any ideas?

Re: My erections are weak, help!

I feel for your dilemma. I would see a doctor. It sounds like both a physical and psychological issue. Having rarely had your problem, and not being an expert, I commented simply from personal experience and some awareness based on info picked-up over the years. I would suspect, though, that you simply have low testosterone, and that problem combined with your temporary performance anxiety are what lead to the poor erections. I definitely would see a doctor. I'm sure there is something they can do.

Thanks, I think a trip to the doctors would be the way forwards. What can be done to treat low testosterone?

Just a suggestion, but you should see a doctor. You mentioned smoking. Smoking can, and does in many cases cause erection problems in the long run.
Pitch the smoke if you want to really get your erections back.
