| Re: Circumcision questions????????
I have no idea of cost where you are sorry.
The procedure can be done under local anasthetic but can also be done under a general. It should take between 20 to 30 minutes depending on the method used, the surgeon, the method of stitching etc.
Healing varies again with the method used, and you should research all the methods available to you where you are. Since it is unlikely that insurance or healthcare will pay for the surgery, as it sounds as if you are choosing this rather than having a medical necessity, you hold the cards as to choice of method, surgeon etc.
But generally healing is about a week or two to being pain free, generally once the stitches are out then most discomfort will have gone, but it will still not be healed fully. After this you can probably test how it feels to have erections and see if you are able to masturbate gently. Acutal intercourse would be not something I would advise until at least two to three months, and even then only with a condom to prevent infection.
Yes you will be left with a scar that generally depends on the type of method used, and the stitching used. The finer the stitch, the more you will have but the less scarring later. The actual visibility of the scar depends on the type of circumcision you want/have - these range from high and tight to low and loose or any combination! Research this on the web and choose what you want, then discuss this with your surgeon.
Do be aware of what you are losing in terms of nerve endings and erogenous tissue that is removed, you cannot put this back afterwards so think carefully.
