Have just bought a bottle of these pills in the hope that they will assist me with getting a better erection an be able to maintain it longer. I have 500mg pills and the packet says to take them twice a day but I have read on many websites and forums that 3000-4000mg are recomended a day. Is this the best option? Should I be popin some prior to sex? Any help would be apprciated.
Is this MORE effective, less effective, or about the same as Cialis? And how long does it take results.. Can you get results hours after taking it? And the more you take, the better the results?
Also, can this be taken in combo WITH Cialis? As in... I take Cialis around 3PM . Then around 7 PM or so (so like 4 hours later), could I take L-Arginine? I tried searching online, and there are probably only 3 or 4 different sites that mention taking the two together. Probably about three of those sites say DO NOT combine the two, or it may not be advisable to take them together. While one site says viagra type medications when combinded with l-arginine work together and have a BETTER effect... So what's the true answer?
You don't need to fear Arginine .... it's just an amino acid. Bodybuilders sometimes take huge amounts. I've taken it before and even with Viagra and Levitra and never had any problems. I would just suggest taking a gram (two pills) three times a day, then your cialis when you need it. Don't worry about the timing, just get on a regular schedule with the arginine and take the cialis as needed.
It's not anywhere near as powerful as a PDE-5 like Cialis, so any comparison is not really valid, but the arginine should make your body more responsive to the PDE-5 drugs by increasing the level of nitric oxide in your blood, which is what the PDE-5s need to operate.
The only thing that I know that you have to be careful of is taking L-arginine if you have any form of herpes, including cold sores. L-arginine will activate the herpes virus in a lot of people. That is why I can't eat most nuts. They are high in L-arginine and it causes me to get cold sores.
Okay I bought some L-Arginine from the store... but I think I got the wrong one!! There was multiple ones that said "Free form L-Arginine" at the health food store. They looked all natural, and they made no claims on what it was benefical for. When I checked the ingridents they just said L-arginine 500 MG. Nothing more.
But then I saw one bottle from Jarrow formulas that said "Arginine 1000. Pharmaceutical grade L-Arginine. Supports Nitric Oxide Synthesis". So I got that one, because it was the only bottle that mentioned helping Nitric Oxide. Did I get a non-natural kind? I'm assuming I did. I dont know what "pharmaceutical grade l-arginine" means. But I'm guessing it's man-made kind and not natural.
Then when I read the ingridents it says: "L-Arginine 1000MG (from 1204 MG of L-Arginine Hydrochloride)" Other ingredients: Dicalcium phosphate, cellulose, modified cellulose gum, magnesium sterate (vegetabable source), modified cellolose, stearic acid (vegetable source) and sillicon dioxide.
Did I get the wrong kind? I was going to take this on the same day as Cialis (probably at least 5 hours apart), but I'm wondering if it's a bad idea since I'm not sure if the kind I bought is a natural occuring amino acid, or if I bought a man-made one that is much stronger and might be too strong with the Cialis.

I doubt it. Arginine is not an "erection drug" like Viagra, etc. You can't think of it that way. Arginine is an amino acid your body naturally produces and the idea is you're taking it as a supplement to build up and add to your body's supply. It's not a "pop it and get an erection" pill. For it to be effective, you're going to need to take it like you would vitamins, etc. - regularly.
I am currently taking now foods 1000mg l-arginine pills and have started getting slight chest pains when I take them. I am pretty sure it is these types of pills that are causeing this (I have taken other l-arginine pills before that were fine but am trying these new ones as they are cheaper). Is it ok to crush these pills up and take them?
Is it a pill, or a capsule containing powder. If it's a capsule, just open it and use it as a powder. If it's a pill, you can probably crush it and do the same. However, if you think it's giving you chest pain, while the other didn't, I'd just go back to the others - no need to deal with pain.
My wife and I use a lot of Now Foods supplements and they are normally excellent. My wife has taken Now L-Arginine capsules (500 mg each) with no problems. She has taken as many as 8 per day (4gm per day) and had no side effects. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to do anything for her libido either. If you think it is the Now Foods brand that is causing the problem then either go back to the other brands that you were using or perhaps try the Now capsules if you are taking tablets.
