Please read this! Need advice

A few days ago after masturbation I noticed a swollen blood vessel or vein sticking up on the shaft of my penis. I've had them a couple times before but they always went away after I went limp. Now its been a few days and its still there. Smaller when limp and larger when erect. I have searched for information all over the internet and havent found much help. Its not painful but is starting to get a little tender. I can't find much info like i said but I have found a little. Some say see a doctor/urologist, and some say that it should be fine in a few days. has anyone had something like this happen before? Am I over reacting to this or not acting quick enough? Anyone with any kind of information please respond.

It's called thrombosis of the vein. It means that the vein was injured and is swollen. What you need to do is stop all masturbation and/or sex until it heals and be a bit more gentle next time you masturbate.

I had some anti-inflamatories left over from a previous doctors visit that im starting to take right now. Will they help? And how long does something like this usually take to heal?

No those will not work on something like this. They work on muscles or joints that are swollen.

Healing time depends on the extent of the injury but I would venture to say that you'll probably be better within a week. Just remember an injury is much easier to reinjure if you don't let it heal properly.

Re: Please read this! Need advice

How serious can something like this get? I would rather stay away from the doctor but if its serious I dont want to wait and let it get worse. And is there anything over the counter i can take to speed up the healing process?

Re: Please read this! Need advice

I don't know what can help the healing process. Time is the best medicine for you. I doubt this is going to get worse.

The worst thing that could happen is that if it is inflammed and you continue to aggravate it, the vein could rupture. This is pretty extreme and the vein would be too painful before you get to the point of doing something like that.
