Yes it deals with temps. The hotter the scrotum is the lower and looser it hangs. The colder it is the tighter and high up it gets. That is to protect the sperm since they cant do well in extreme temps.

The scrotum is meant to protect the testicles and provide and ideal environment for sperm to grow.
When it is warm it hangs low to get the testicles away from the body so things don't get too hot. If it is cold it pulls them close to add warmth.
It is also a natural reaction for it to pull the testicles close do the body during a fight or flight situation. This I assume also to protect them. Testes that are hanging low during a fight make an inviting target, and if you ever have to run the swaying action can be a killer.
If you just lie still you can actually see the scrotum and testicles move. Have your boyfriend lie still in an unarroused state, and the first thing you will notice before he even gets hard is his scrotum starts to tighten.
Trust me you do NOT want testicles. You already have breasts, breasts are much better than testicles. They are more fun to play with and less easy to injure. I notice that my testicles are shrunken after sex, after drinking too much and also after heavy exercise and if it is cold.
When the testicles expand/shrink the scrotum also shrinks/expands a bit . The scrotum itself also shrinks a lot during sex and when it is cold. Quite funny the skin seems to disappers to nowhere.
I always think I am more horny on a day when my testicles are big - others think they are more horny when their testicles are small.

Are they affected by intense emotion? For instance, if you just found out you won the lotto...do you think they would shrink with excitement? I don't think my nipples respond to my moods, mostly just by cold temps (frozen food section at Shop-RIte!) and when I'm sexually aroused. I have had a physical reaction to being angry though. A reaction usually reserved for sexual encounters. ie got wet. weird occurance, that.
But one of my nipples is pierced, and that one pretty much stays erect all the time now. The other one can be so soft that when you feel it, you can barely tell when you've pin-pointed the nipple, but it stands straight out when inspired.

I do like my breasts. I like the way they feel and I love their newfound sensitivity. In the past, I didn't gain much sexual pleasure from having them squeezed, tweaked or sucked. Then I read somewhere that you could "train" them to be more responsive and now it's a whole different story. There is a definite and direct connection from my nipples right to my ****.

I didn't mean to imply that you don't like your breasts, I just wanted to point out how much of a pain tesicles are. You don't know ache until you sit on one of your testicles.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy having testicles, but everything I have ever heard women complain about their breasts could apply to testicles.
As for winning the lottery I honest don't know what my testicles would do. I AM pretty sure one of my thoughts would NOT be "hmmm what are my testicles doing right now" but if I am ever in that situation I will try to bring it to mind. I do think they would be afected by strong emotions and in such a circumstance they would tighten up. The body only know you are excited it dosn't really understand the cause.
I have heard of the relationship to anger and sexual arrousal before. I understand fear, and danger have the same affect on some women.

Sitting on a testical is not near as bad as your 3 year old daughter running at you head first and squashing the family jewels with her head (just the right height at 3), or slipping off that first 10 speed bike, getting a hockey puck between the legs in your first turn at goalie, or the granddaddy of them all, running around the portables in grade 3 right into the grade 6 boy who has just swung the bat...low!
With all the times I crushed them, I'm surprised they come out to play at all!
In answer to the original question, just like the part they are attached to, they seem to have a mind of thier own.

Oh yeah Babernethy every guy has horror stories of squishing the twins.
My worst was in the third grade when the brakes locked on my bike and I met the unpadded goose neck at about 20mph. I couldn't even walk for about 2 or 3 hours and had trouble turning my head for a day or two. Man you don't realize how everything in your body is connected untill you hit them that hard.
LOL My brother got hit so hard once playing racket ball it actually shoved the testicle up into his body. He said the worst part was when it popped back out again.
Kista should find this interesting because even though I am laughing at these intances now my scrotum is also tightenting up in apprehension.
