hi, i am male, 19.
but i have only very less facial hair.
it is quite thin and grows very slowly.
does this mean i haven't got enough testosterone ?
is something wrong with my testicles ?
on the other hand i look masculine, have a dark voice
etc. there is simply the fact that i cannot grow a
real beard and this bothers me.
what do you think is this normal ?
can i do anything against that ?
my brother is 4 years older and he has normal
facial hair.
my armpits were already like a "bush" at the age of 14,
but the facial hair is simply not satisfying.
My husband grows a great mustache but a lousy beard. He has several area's that don't fill in with hair at all. He does try a beard again every once in a while to see if those areas will fill in "this time" but they generally still don't fill in enough for him to have a beard so it could just be the way you are.
Lots of men don't grow beards or hair in other places(chest, back, butt, etc.) until their 20s or maybe never. It's more a genetic thing, and some families just aren't hairy. Mine is moderately hairy but not gorilla-like. I had a full beard and chest hair at about 16 or so but lots of my classmates didn't have it till they were 25 or maybe still don't.
Beards are a lot of trouble anyhow. Mine looks like **** if I don't shave every day, and that hurts and burns too much so I do it every other day, and sometimes get remarks about looking trashy but can't help it.
yes, every time i shave ( no matter what i use.
i tried a brand new razor, i tried an electric shaver)
i get really bad ignitions and spots in the face !
i look like a 14 year old acne-boy afterwards even
though i have no acne. this is all caused by shaving.
but i wonder what i am doing wrong !
when i use a brand new razor the razor blade is sterile or nearly sterile, so why do it get these infections ?
shall i try alcohol after shaving to kill the germs ?
Those bumps after shaving are fairly common and I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Are you using shaving cream? It could be that a change in the brand may help some. Facial hair is totally genetic, some of us have alot, others have little. Nothing to worry about and probably isn't related to testosterone or you'd be having other related problems.
the shaving cream cannot be the reason cause
i also tried an electric shaver and i also
got the spots. it bothers me i cannot shave anylonger
cause i don't want to walk around and look like
a teenager with acne-spots.
do you use after-shave ? does it kill germs etc ?
Have you tried shaving in the shower. My hubby does that because his skin is sensitive. With the shower it warms up his skin and makes shaving much easier on his face. He doesnt use a shaving cream or gel.
You can also talk with your doctor and explain what is going on to see what he would suggest you try.
I'm in my early 20's and I tend to shave every single day. However I have almost no leg hair on the outside of my leg and very peach fuzzy light coloured arm hair. Yet I do have chest hair. I have friends my age that shave every few weeks and have absolutely NO chest hair. Don't worry so much about facial hair - it really tends to mean very little and you're probably perfetly normal. Besides it's a PAIN having to shave every day.
Here's a hint for you about the redness. I have really sensitive skin - after shaving I also get really red blotchy looking skin. It stays that way for at least 2 hours or so and i think it looks terrible (I probably worry about it too much though) I solved the problem by shaving at night - before I go to bed. Therefore by the time I wake up everything looks fine and I'm ready to go to work. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
As someone else mentioned - warm water makes it easier as well. I usually splash some warm water all over my face right before starting.
Make sure every time u shave to wet a cloth with as hot water as you can stand and leave it on your face for at least a minute, or shave in the shower after running really warm-hot water on your face. i have shaved in the shower since college, all you have to do is feel your face after every few strokes of the blade and see what is still hairy.
i use Mach 3, i recommend them or the Sensor. Stay away from electrics unless you're tough or have a thin beard.
and always rinse out the blades every time you shave, it'll make them last ten times longer.

thanx again !
yes my legs are already too hairy, i think.
they really bother me, i'd rather like
to transfer the hair on my legs into my face.....
my legs look like bigfoot and my face looks
like a baby...great !
