On both sides of my penis on the scrotum, I have 2 rashes. They are red but pink in the morning. They can get leathery around evening time. They itch from time to time. Also have a little discoloration on the skin underneath the penis. The flexible skin. Went to a derm and said psoriasis in my opinion. I asked her she 100% sure. She said no. Does anyone have this issue and what have you done to fix it. Sex is hard as the part around the penis hurts with friction. So have to go slow and not have fast sex. Can someone help me diagnose this?
If you search the site for Chronic red scrotum, there are a lot of threads on scrotal redness. Posted on the men's health forum mainly. Different people having different conditions and different cures have been found but if you look through them all you may find something that helps. Using a condom and keeping underwear on or otherwise covering the scrotum during sex would reduce the friction/possibly pain and protect your partner. Even if the initial condition isn't infectious, (and your derm isn't sure), skin damage will give an opportunity for all the fungi and bacteria that live naturally on the skin to proliferate.
Thanks. I'll check. Ive seen some chronic red scrotum but thought that was for whole scrotum. Mine us like in left and right of scrotum. I eat a lot of yogurt and take daily a 25 billion probiotic pill. Will that help to prevent the bacteria. Are there anything else that could be associated with this and not be chronic. This derm wanted to put a hydrocortisone on it. I was like f that.
There are a lot of possible causes for scrotal redness. The thing which helped me keep my problem under control is dusting with talc - that keeps it dry and helps with friction (talc isn't good for a woman in the genital area though). Some people have found an emolient has sorted it out. Others a steroid. Others anti-fungals. Others have found the cause has been an allergy. And so on. Unfortunately there are a lot of possible causes for a red rash on the scrotum so I can't be much help here apart from point to all the threads. And chronic just means long lasting. If you don't trust one doctor then consider another. There are even specialists who deal with genital dermatosis. Also a doctor at a genital urinary clinic might have seen your problem before even if its not a sexually transmitted one.
I'm definitely not using a steroid. Not down there at least. A derm had me using clobetasol propionate down there. Probably thin skin down there now. I had sd on my face and had a derm giving me all kinds of creams including steroids for my face. Now I have it under control with a good anti candida (yeast) diet. Barely can see it. I'm wondering if it's the same thing on my genitals and scrotum. I want to be sure what I have before I start putting things on down there and ruin the skin more. I need my sex life back. Help. Trying to find pictures of psoriasis. Sd. Yeast infection down there on penus and scrotum but can't find any good ones.
