Are there some types of food or drink that change the color of sperm?
Sometimes it's white, other times it's off white(yellowish)It just does'nt seem to be as "white" as I'm used to seeing, does age have anything to do with?(38 yrs) or what about medication?
I'm just wondering if these color changes are normal.
A couple of times I actually noticed a pinkish tone almost like blood???(someone said that was a blood vessel from straining during ejaculation???)
Anyway! what can we do to keep sperm healthy and white.
Well there are couple of thoughts. First, urine and semen can't mix, so that isn't the cause. Sure, sometimes a pinkish tint can indicate a small amount of blood from a vessel being broken or weakened in the process. What makes the most sense is that actual sperm are yellowish and jelly like in consistency. The amount of sperm released in each ejaculation is different and depends on alot...like how many ejaculations recently, etc etc. So from time to time our ejaculations may change in color variation (mine do) from white to a creamy white or often yellowish in color. Some foods can change the taste or smell, not quite sure about the color though. Hope this helps, any others out there with some ideas?
Originally posted by focus: Yes, yellowish colored semen is perfectly normal from time to time. It's not always pure white like in the pornos.
Well, in the pornos, a lot of the time, they have the opportunity to adjust what they put in the mix, don't they?
I understand the colour is in fact Riboflavin, a yellow-coloured vitamin (B2). This is in a variety of foods, but particular component of the "-mite" yeast extract products (Vegemite®, Marmite®, Promite® etc.) which are mostly of course - yellow! (when diluted)
