Talking Vasectomy Aftermath

I have enjoyed reading the many stories about vasectomies! ALL my wife wanted for her 39th birthday was for me to get fixed! She bought some really sexy nighties and underwear and said no see it on until you get fixed!

After 2 kids - I did the deed! Shaving my balls was great! We had sex deluxe the last night I was a "complete" man. Being told to wear a jockstrap for a couple of weeks was no big deal as I wear a jockstrap most every day! Being a PE teacher has its benefits!

I was told no sex - nothing said about handjobs! The enemy lines began being cleared 5 days after being whacked! The first few orgasams I had were painful to the say the least - then I found the Suspensory! What a great undergarment! I just had to have one on to have sex!

What's your vasectomy story?? Talk about freedom - it's anytime - anywhere!

Being 6.5 hours post-op, I don't have much "story" to add. Unfortunately, no last blast, pre-op sex last night.

My doctor used what I think is the best technique though. Single incision, no scapel, no sutures, and no silly metal clips on the vas. I had heard in the class that most doctors use small metal clips to seal the vas, and two incisions. My biggest concern was that I'd be feeling around down there for the rest of my life and develop OCD over the four little clips.

The nurse was very nice, and said I had done a great job preparing the area. I had shaved the scrotum and trimmed the rest to about 1/4".

The procedure itself was easy, except when he clamped the first side. He said it might feel like someone kicked me down there and it did pretty much fit that description. We joked that they were using placebo anethesia as they added more. With the second side, the anesthesia had kicked in fully and I didn't feel anything. No swelling or pain yet, just some slight discomfort from time to time.

It was the best idea we ever had. We chose not to have children and it was easier for me to have a couple snips done than my wife to take the pill forever and then still worry that something might happen.

I developed an allergic reaction to the sperm left in my system. Only a very small number of patients develop this reaction. I had some swelling and a little pain after the surgery. After a few days, I was back to to normal.

Took about 3 weeks to clear all the remaing sperm out of my plumbing. Best way to clear out the sperm is a lot of sex. Can you think of a better way to "cure" something than to have a lot of sex?

I think it made me a better lover. Just enjoy the moment and not worry about unwanted complications (i.e.--children). Should have done it years before.

Note to MDC -- Just do what the doc says and you will be fine. Keep ice on your groin this weekend. This is the perfect chance to get your wife to wait on you a little. Might as well take advantage. After all you are doing her a favor. She can go off the pill in just a couple more cycles.

Weaver,
I guess I'd better get some ice on it then. I wore the cold pack they gave me for several hours, and took two of the Tylenol 3 right after leaving the pharmacy. No lifting more than 10-15 lbs which means no grocery shopping, or much of anything this weekend for me.

No more condoms, spermacides, withdrawl, or pills for my wife... ever again! I think this will be a great thing for our sex life! She hasn't taken the pill for a couple of years now, so I still have to be careful for another 20 or so ejaculations.

ok i'd like to know about this as my girlfriend, possibly future wife, has said that she does not want to be on the pill forever either. now here is my situation, i'm more interested in being informed than looking into actually doing this at the moment, i am scared beyond belief of hospitals, surgery, or anything that goes along with those things (ie. scalpels, what-have-you). just how much does it hurt and is there a point where your like "yes i can feel him cutting me now"?
