is it true? i read this on the back of a cigarette packet!!! it's more scary than the other health warnings they give!!

i've been smoking (heavily at times) for the past eight years and think my erections have become less powerful over the last six months i.e not as hard and solid as before. Could this be due to smoking and if i stopped would my original "hardness" return?

I don't mean to be insulting. But this struck me as very odd.
The warnings say that smoking may cause lung cancer, and a host of other problems, but you said the scariest warning was about impotence.
This just seems like odd priorities, but that's just me.
As for smoking causing impotence, I don't know for sure, but I don't see why it wouldn't contribute, but I doubt that it's the sould factor.
You didn't mention how old you were, age, and stress might have something to with it.

i'm 24 and yes i think stress is the major factor in my case. i can still get hard but i don't think it's as hard as i was six months ago. AND I don’t seem to have as many erections as I used too. Can’t remember the last time I woke up with a stiffy!

I'm going to try and quit smoking now just to see if it will facilitate a return of my previous stiffness. Do you think it will help? Can’t do any harm I guess…

There was an anti-smoking ad campaign running here in Canada a while ago that was pretty funny, it had this guy at a bar put a cigarette to his lips and it drooped limply once he let it go (and it was well animated to flop down from his lips with the same floppiness as a limp penis). Got the point across beautifully.
Anyway, point being that I think the warning is genuine. As for it being the scariest warning, it hits guys where they live, you know. People have a hard time imagining getting cancer in 20 years, but impotence...
