For the last month I have my penis has been itching around the shaft area. (its been about 5 months since I had any sexual contact) If I scratch it, it sometimes swells, gets alittle red, like a bug bite but by the next day the swelling goes away. The skin in some areas that I scratch will dry and flake away. Does anyone know if this is a STD or a allergic reaction to something??

Have you changed laundry soap or bath soap?My husband found out the hard way that his wife changed laundry soap. I have never done that since. It caused him to itch horribly. Or if you were with a girl that had a yeast infection...you can have a reaction to that. My gynocologist told me that my husband could also use the yeast infection cream for itching on the shaft of his penis .Just the topical. Like vagisil. Hope i was of some help.

You could have scabies, but itching from a scabies infection affects more areas of the body, not just the penis. Look up info about scabies online and see if that matches your case.
