I have all the symptoms of low testosterone: depression, ED, lack of libido, hard to focus , general overal feeling of not being well.
But I am strong, and can build muscle,
Does this mean there is now way my testosterone can be low? I think I am going to the doc. tommorow to DEMAND a blood test. Anyone have any exp. they can share?
I am 22 and went I went to the doc the first time he gave me Viagra. ???
Get tested for total T, free T, LH, FSH and estradiol. that's the basic tests that will clear up this issue. And if you're in the low end of the range in total and free T that's not acceptable, especially for your age.
Do a web search on hypogonadisn and start reading because doctors are woefully ignorant on this subject.
I would add a thyroid and blood sugar test because low thyroid and/or high blood sugar can also produce those symptoms.
As for the strength issue, it takes some time for your muscle mass to decrease because of low testosterone, so it depends on how long the symptoms have been going on for. I would guess a year before you started to see some effect on your muscle mass. It would really depend how consistently low your testosterone was.
