I was diagnosed with a blood clot on my penis 2 days ago. I first noticed it about 2 weeks ago. Is a blood clot in the penis harmful or fatal, and will it go away with time? Im pretty young if that makes any difference, 16 years old.

Hi. If you were diagnosed by a real MD, and sent home and can now write messages on your PC, it is my guess you will be fine. Were you given any medicines or treatments? A blood clot can be from trauma....a bang or knock, no pun intended. It can be internal like inside a vein, or it can just be bruise. I would say you are going to be just fine and this will resolve all be itself in time. I am not a docotr or even close, but that is my humble opinion. You did the right thing getting it checked out. But if it is painful or you are still worried, go back to the doc and ask for more explanations. It is your right.

You don't need to go back in for an appt, since you are an established patient and he had just seen you for this condition call his office and tell the nurse you'd like to ask him a few more questions/concerns that you have. The doc may not be able to talk right that minute but should call you back.

You really need to be asking the doc the questions you are asking here because we don't know exactly what it is or what he said so any coments you get will only be speculation.

Now call your doctor!
