Dry patches on penis

I am posting on behalf of my boyfriend, we are both 18 and sexually active. As of late he has been noticing small dry patches (almost peeling) on his penis. There is not redness, and he has experienced no pain, itching, or discharge. They are not cuts, either, and they are only on his shaft. From what I've been researching it seems like it may simply be dry skin. Neither of us has ever been tested for STDs (which we will be quick to do, I assure you) but I have been his only sexual partner. I have recently been treating myself for a yeast infection (3rd time) so we have not had sex in about a week. Typically we have sex about 15 times a week so I haven't ruled out the possibility that it's just dry skin from masturbating! Has anyone ever experienced this? Similar non-alarming, yet still alarming symptoms? Thanks!

Re: Dry patches on penis

It's totally possible that it's just dry skin, but yeast can cause dry skin like this too (especially with flaking). It doesn't itch until/unless it becomes worse, so it sounds like a really minor yeast problem at present (if it is). If it's yeast, it may help for him to wash his penis sooner and more completely after sex (and let it dry well). Dryness fights yeast like this. Cranberry may help as well (for both of you). It has some pretty good anti-yeast effects. The unsweetened forms seem to be a lot better than the more common cocktails, but even they seem to do something.

On the other hand, if it's just dry skin, more dryness is the opposite of what it needs. (Cranberry wouldn't hurt in that case though.)
