May December Sex

Hello,
I am looking for advice and feedback regarding reasons why a man over 60 does not want to have sex. We have been seeing each other for over a years. I am 35 he is 62. We have only had sex 6 times in the past two weeks. I feel like it is something wrong with me but he say ts men over 60 simply have less of a drive. Any feedback?

Re: May December Sex

Men have a natural decline in testosterone as they age, which is the hormone responsible for libido. Women reach their sexual peak as far as libido in their 30's, so you are just a bit off timing wise because of your age discrepancy. If you have had sex 6 times in the last 2 weeks, I'd say he is keeping up with you rather well! Most couples YOUR age have sex 2-3 times a week, so for a 60+ year old, 2-3 times a month is usually more their speed. I would guess there is nothing wrong with either of you!

Re: May December Sex

How people do vary,
my husband is 70 yrs old and would like it everyday. Once or twice a week is enough for me and I'm in my middle sixties.
Six times in the past two week's sound's like he's doing pretty o.k to me. If it's too little for you perhap's it's time to move on.
Just remember everyone is different and what suit's one may not another,

Solofelix.

Re: May December Sex

solofelix: I was in awe after reading that your husband is 70 and would like it everyday! That is terrific! I was curious if he is on any medications or if he takes supplements etc. Getting and erection and maintaining it? I am thrilled to read this because my husband is 59, his drive seems to be easing up some(maybe because I want it more now it seems he is easing up) and having trouble maintaining erections. I was figuring the blood pressure pills and his age are contributing factors. His doctor said the BP pill is very low dose and does not think that would be effecting much. So he prescribed Viagra. I on the other hand was content with less is better up until a few months ago and now I think everyday would be nice! We have incorporated Viagra into the mix lately and that does help. I am just glad to read your post because I am hoping to be saying my husband would like it everyday when he's 70 too. Although, careful what we wish for hey, by then, I will probably think once a month is great! LOL And yes indeed, how people vary between age and sex is incredible.

Re: May December Sex

Hi PrettyPatient,

My husband takes Statins, Betablockers and a low dose Asprin everyday as in his 50s he had treatment for two blocked valves in his heart.
Yes!.. getting and maintaining an erection has become more difficult in the last few years but that dosent stop the desire to want to perform. It just takes a bit more effort for both of us.
After 46 yrs of marriage to this man I hope I have some understanding of what work's,
and he know's that at my age I'm not always ready to break the world record getting to the bedroom "Ha Ha"...
As for Viagra, his Dr did recomend that to him but I'm not too fond of that idea as his hopes of everyday would go sky high,

Solofelix.

Re: May December Sex

Hi Solofelix: My husband is also on the same meds as yours. He had a heart attack with two blocked arteries 3 yrs ago. I think better diet and excercise would be a helping factor for my husband as well right now. He is trying, but it is hard. (He is about 30 pounds overweight) He is 59 and I am 52. I so really want a satisfying sex life without the use of Viagra. (no sponteneity, and $26 a pill with no prescription coverage. It has helped but not a fix) Sometimes with this new clumbsiness I feel as though were strangers sometimes. We should feel totally comfortable, we have been married for 33 yrs. Maybe were just trying to hard? Any suggestions sure would be appreciated if you can relate.

Re: May December Sex

Hi,
I wish I had a magic answer but I don't.
I guess it depend's on the individual, as I said were all different. My husband is at a normal weight for his height and we both eat only healthy food and exercise.
Perhap's he just has a healthy sex drive.

Solofelix.
