Couldn't have sex?

Hi, so I'm really embarrassed but I'm looking for answers. So me and my boyfriend were trying to have sex for the first time the other day and it's both our first times so we were quite nervous which is understandable but when we decided we were going to actually do it, it just wouldn't go in! Now I know it's not impossible but I'm just worried as to why we couldn't do it, he was really nervous as he said he was scared of hurting me and I could feel him shaking and when it wouldn't go in he lost his erection twice. I'm hoping it's just nerves and it will go away but can someone please help and give me advice with what to do? It was also pitch black and I couldn't see him at all so we both think that's something to do with it as we couldn't find where it was supposed to go in properly?
Thanks in advance

Re: Couldn't have sex?

HI Teen1603,

Having sex for the first time is a huge step! I am going to assume you have thought about this and are honestly prepared to take this step; and that you thought about birth control and protection from STDs as well...

Assuming you have all that covered, the first time is still overwhelming. It is more than likely the fact that both of you were so nervous that things went alitttle wrong. A man losing his erection is usually stress related and as you said, he was afraid of hurting you and probably had a few other things on his mind like pregnancy potential and maybe even "getting caught" depending on where you were doing this...
For a woman, if we get nervous, it usually causes dryness and our vaginal mucles to tighten up. This makes penetration much harder!

My suggestion for you both is to try again when you are completely relaxed and have plenty of time to take with this. Be sure that you are both completely aroused before trying anything.

Unfortuantely, sex is something that takes practice and the first time or two may not be all that wonderful (or it might be, some woman claim their first time is not at all painful and wonderful)....but once you get it done the first time each time will get easier.

I hope this helps...

Re: Couldn't have sex?

Hi thank you! Yes this really helps, we have spoken about it and we'be decided to try again and let it happen more naturally instead of planning it and worrying about it! I'm sure it will happen eventually but thank for replying and restoring my confidence
