Hi im 1* and my last 3 periods have lasted five days and this time it has lasted 7 but its getting lighter..How long should a normal period last?

Exactly as long as yours does. You sound completely normal to me! 3 to 7 days is the usual, but it's not like a day or two either way would be any big deal.
Gillian is right, my period changes from time to time, but it normally stays to the 5-7 day range, as long as you are getting your period your fine. dont worry about a thing
It varies. I have been cursed with like 7 day heavy periods, but thats my normal. Also things can affect how long you bleed, like when I went on the birth control patch for a continuous 3 months (because of my bad periods), when i got off it and started bleeding, it was horrible, i had to miss school cuz of the cramps too. Also, my mom said it can change as you get older, get short, longer, lighter or heavier. all part of the glorious gift god gave women....
