Depo provera shots cause bone density loss while you are on it...so you need to increase your calcuim intake to try and make up for the loss.
Secondly hair loss is one of the listed side effects,some women's bodies react that way to Depo. Also weight gain is a big side effect of Depo. Most cases it isnt a little bit like with the pill. The my first shot I gained 30 pounds by the time my next shot was due and during those follwoing three months I gained another 20 pounds...yes that is right 50 pounds in 6 months. I also had constant spotting during that time. There are alot of side effects that your doctor SHOULD have discussed with you.
