Hi, Ok..I have a question about birth control...clearly I am teen and when it comes to sex my parents think im some sweet innocent little thing...so if i am sexually active with my bf sometimes...could i put myself on birth control also just in case without my parents knowing?

You should have a public health building/planned parenthood in your area, they can help you out. I went to the one in my hometown when I was in my teens cuz I needed the morning after pill and couldn't bare to tell my parents that I was sexually active. The condom broke however and I freaked. I went to the public health building and they had me fill out a couple of papers and it is completely CONFIDENTIAL. If you want nothing to be told...they will tell no one. Sure enough I saw a nurse, she checked me out and got me started on birth control. My parents to this day still have no idea I went that day and got birth control. However, sooner or later you might want to be honest with your parents. Some things may happen to where you'll certainly need your mom's help or at least need her in a difficult time and instead of her getting the shock of her life in one instant, she can rather guide you through it. Believe me. Even though at first it disapointed my mom, she got over it. Good luck!

ya i really would like to start birth control too.. but if they start you on it, is it free or what? bc i dont have a credit card to pay so coul;d u pay in cash? and nothing is sent to your house from them is it.. ?

Yes, you can pay in cash, and I know from experience that Planned Parenthood is very discreet. I've had great experiences there--they are very nice, patient, and open-minded. They also make sure not to call you at home or mail you anything that says it's from PP, so your parents won't find out. They will respect your privacy and especially if you pay cash, you can make sure that no one finds out that you are on BC. I strongly encourage all you girls who are even considering having sex to get on some form of BC and always use condoms as well--it's so much better to be well-prepared and protected rather than risk getting pregnant or contracting an STD because you didn't anticipate having sex but it happened before you had a chance to get on BC.
