| Re: important to see gyno?
Having an annual exam is very important and strongly recommended for general health screening, especially to check for STD's and infections (yeast infection, urinary tract infection) because you can't always tell if you have an infection and long-term effects can be serious, even causing sterility without any symptoms. Early signs of cancer of the cervix as well. You need to have a Pap test once a year or as advised by your Dr. because it could save your life. That's great that you are using protection, but as you become sexually active it's just something you need to do. It's like when you get pregnant...you NEED to see an OB/GYN...it's just that down right important to make sure also that everything is okay female wise. It's great being a woman, but i know it can also be stressful considering the exams we have to put ourselves through, but there's nothing like the relief of knowing that you are in fact A-okay.
