The chances of getting a false positive on a pregnancy test are nigh on impossible. The saying 'a line is line' is pretty accurate and if a pregnancy test is positive, then you are pregnant. (There are some very, very rare exceptions to this, like hormone injections etc, but these would not having an impact on your situation). Birth control pills will not effect a pregnancy test result.
It is however possible to get a false negative. If a pregnancy test isn't used correctly, too early or left too long before reading, these can all lead to a false negative.
To be honest, the chances of your gf being pregnant from what you've described are pretty unlikely, so I really wouldn't worry too much. But if she does want to test, she should wait until her period is late and read the test instructions very carefully to ensure an accurate result. Failing that, she could get her doctor to carry out a urine and/or blood test. But try not to worry, I think you'll be fine, just ensure you take appropriate precautions in future, then you won't have any unneccesary worry! Good luck.
