Okay so my boyfriend said that his old coach told him that none of the guys on his team should mastrubate/ have sex, ect that would cause ejaculation because doing so the night before a game would cause them to not play their best/cause tiredness... Has anyone else heard this? Is this true?

I think the coach means, or his purpose for this "strategy" is that the built up sexual tension will make the boys more aggressive, therefore they'd play harder. I guess it could work for some people... not the best or most guarenteed way to win a game though!

As far as i know that is true as after ejaculation there is less testosterone in the body causing a decrease in performance across all sports.
The release of testosterone effects how aggressive he is in the sport and his concentration.
Although the effects do vary greatly between people, i would assume that your bf coach is particulary old school.
