I was married at 22 yrs, was a virgin, did the petting thing for years, but no intercourse, husband could not get it in-even after 3 months married, went to see Gyno, luckily they did a pregnancy test (which was positive) but if not, I would have been scheduled for a "Hymenoctomoy" for the problem you describe. Eventually it all works out though, I was 5 months pregnant (8 months married) before he "got it in" (no surgery). My husband is very gentle, probably more than most, so I doubt many women go this long having sex before their hymen is popped. I just wanted to share my experience.
