Okay, about a month ago i noticed the head of my penis was redder than usual and there was a darker red area near the rim of the head, about two weeks ago i finally had the courage to see a doctor and he diagnosed it as a mild yeast infection and prescribed clotrimazole cream.
I have been applying it twice daily since then and while the redness seems to go away, the red patches are not and because the overall redness is kinda less noticable its making the darker areas stand out more. Im wondering if I should carry on using the clotrimazole cream until I use it all or something else.
The current symptoms are the darker area of the penis, and a darker bruise like ring going around the entire bottom of the penis. Theres no discomfort, itching hurting or burning normally or while urinating. My foreskin is also slightly red but thats an occasional symptom - sometimes its red sometimes its normal. My foreskin is fully retractable however when erect it does tighten and I can feel it stretching which gives a slight tingle feeling until I relax. Never been sexually active but was never big on hygiene under the foreskin which I think was what started it (but i do take extra care now). Im not sure if Balanitis and a yeast infection is the same thing but I personally think I have Balanitis.
