I'm 18, and I've never let a guy see down there, so now that I want to have sex with my boyfriend, I'm extremely nervous about how he'll react to my body. I've been self-conscious for years about.. well.. my labia, and I've never had the courage to talk to ANYONE about it. I've viewed posts about whether or not guys find it attractive, and obviously every guy has their preference, but I can't help but feel like I'll be looked at weird because the chances of girls having a visible labia is like, 10% out of 100. Girls in media, and girls I know, all have small ones and I've heard guys make fun of big ones, calling them "meat drapes, flaps, curtains" .. etc.. and how ugly they are. This is personal but when pulled they reach to about 6cm, I'm embarassed.

If you are having sex with a guy that is in love with you and loves you then he won't care what it looks like. You are who you are and you were made perfect. Stop worrying about that. If he thinks you are freaked out about it then he might get freaked out. I bet that thought doesn't even cross his mind honey. Be cleaned and shaved and you will be just fine

I read an interesting article awhile back about why, exactly, women in "classy", mainstream porn magazines like Playboy and Penthouse have uniformly small- almost invisible- inner labia.
Apparently it is standard practice to airbrush their labia out, not because larger labia aren't sexy, but because of some sort of legal issue- the more of a woman's "inner" genitalia is showing, the more "obscene" the magazine/media is considered to be, and the fewer places are permitted to sell or display it. There's some sort of government rating system to decide this... it's all very complicated. If I could find that article again I'd link to it, but we're not allowed to link to articles on this forum.
The gist of the article was that because of this censorship of women's genitalia- this tendency of the "classier" men's magazines to airbrush it out, to make it appear that most women have nothing between their legs but a cleft- many girls and women believe they are somehow deformed, when in fact their genitalia is quite normal and probably looks exactly like the men's magazine models' genitalia, pre-airbrushing.
I will say that MOST women have inner labia that are visible, to some greater or lesser extent. Typically only babies and small children have these "invisible" inner labia one sees in men's magazines. At puberty, our inner labia get bigger and our outer labia loses some of its fat and "puffiness", and at that point, the inner labia can be seen protruding beyond the outer, in most women, to one extent or another. This does not mean the inner labia is "too big". It's normal.
If you want to see what real, normal, non-airbrushed adult vaginas look like, don't look at porn. Look at medical websites.

When I was young all of the women I was with had long labia. I thought that was normal until I was in my 20's and moved to a different state. In this state the greatest majority of women have very small labia. I really don't care as long as it's pink and healthy. Worry about your personality and not your anatomy. The personality is what people will judge you by. Not whether you have a hottentot apron or not.
Please relax! First off, most 18 yo guys having sex with a girl are so in cloud nine that I doubt they'd notice if a train came by in the bedroom! Secondly, like penises, labia come in many different shapes, colors and sizes. Wouldn't it be a boring world if we were all the same. Porn would almost have you believe that fact.
Like others have said, if he loves you, he'll find "all" of you beautiful. Actually, there are guys/men out there that find larger labia very appealing. Take it for what it is, this is your body we're talking about and no one in the entire world is exactly like you. You were made to be just the way you are. Please love yourself!!
