Okay my friend is about to take the birth control shot ... she wants to know if the doctors will be able to tell if she is on it when she goes for checkups and stuff. She doesn't want her mom finding out she is having sex, but when she gets sick and goes to the doctors they ask if she is having sex. Should she still them? She doesn't want anyone to know. Thanks

Yes, it's crucial for her to talk to the doctor if she is having sex.
Tell her not to worry, b/c by law the doctor cannot tell her mother anything that is talked about between her and the doctor, especially related to sexual matters. It has to do with patient/doctor confidentiality.

She definately shouldn't hold back info though, they don't ask for nothing.
