Okay my girlfriend has a cold sore right now, it is probly 4 days old. Today I was kissing her and then I went down and gave her oral sex without thinking twice about it. Could she have genital herpes, what are the chances of this? I heard before that after the sore forms on the lip it is a lot less contagious then it was before it formed. And help would be very nice.....

If she has a cold sore you should not be kissing her until the sore is completely gone. You are putting yourself at risk of getting a cold sore as well as trasferring the virus to her genital area. No kissing while she has a cold sore.

Hi, if you have been kissing her while she had a cold sore, there is a very big chance that you now also have oral herpes (whether you show symptoms or not). Herpes can also be transmitted while there are NO symptoms present. If you have contracted oral herpes from her, you are at risk for giving it back to her genitally, even if you don't have symptoms. However, by her already having herpes orally (which is it estimated that 80% of the population already has), it does give her some protection from getting reinfected genitally, since her body already has antibodies to it. It is, however, still possible. Hope that helps.
