Friend, you may not be entirely knowledgeable about what you've got there. The male foreskin is quite variable; some men have one that covers the entire head of the penis, soft or hard. Others are only partly covered when soft, and not much at all when hard. And the cover may stay on of its own accord when the penis is hard, or you might have to push it if you want to keep it covered. But however it ends up, it's fine. If it does what you want (and they almost always do!) then you're all set. Don't think about nasty sharp knives unless there's something that's really in need of fixing!
