i get really loopy.. i get drunk really easily.. and i am SICK the next day.. puking and sleeping... i think if you only had a bit to drink you'd be fine.. but i'd test it first..
see i have chem probs and i shouldn't be so when i do i drink more than i should.
but i know that even after a glass of wine i am really spacey in my head.. and even though i did drink too much (and i was drunk, but no trashed).. i should NOT have been that sick.. i was dead til 5 PM.. on two separate occasions.. (the only 2 i have ever had with wellbutrin).. i haven't drank now for months.. i have been on it since beginning of june..
my advice.. test the waters carefully.. or just skip it.. plus.. if you are taking wellbutrin for depression (i am that is why i say) you shouldn't be drinking anyway cause alcohol is a depressant. i'd have a glass of wine.. you should know after that.. and the bottle says not to drink.. so maybe you shouldn't at all..
i hope this helps.. i know i'm rambling! AND... seriously if you do test the waters with one drink have a driver cause you should not depend on yourself.. i couldn't after one.. no way.
ok.. i'll shut up now.
Drinking alcohol while on an anti-depressant(s) is strongly not recommended. It's a bad combo. I'm on Wellbutrin too and I know that if I even have a sip of anything that has alcohol in it, I feel like I'm gonna fall over or sink into the ground. Mind you, it does affect every person differently but it's still not a good combo. Talk to your doctor if you have any other concerns or if you want his/her opinion.
I have been taking Wellbutrin SR now for approx. 4 months. The prescription warning I received was not to drink excessively. I haven't gotten rip-roaring drunk, but I've had a few mixed drinks every now and then to the point of feeling comfortably tipsy. I don't feel the Wellburtin amplifies the alcohol effect on me like some other posters. I have not had a seizure. I've read that higher doses may bring on a seizure. My dose is considerably low (100mg 2x day.)
