masturbation guilt? - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

i'm a very sexual person and i masturbate even on days when my husband and i have sex. sometimes i feel guilty about mastubating. i don't feel guilty about my husband knowing or anything like that--he know i do. sometimes i just feel like i'm actually bad or something. i always tell myself that masturbation is perfectly normal but i just can't seem to shake the feeling that i'm a bad person for doing it. my parents raised me to believe that masturbation is evil-for religious reasons. i don't agree with them but perhaps this is some baggage i'm carrying from all the years of hearing them harp. does anyone else have these feelings and how do you deal the them? thanks for your help.

Nah, not any more, I'm pretty much over any guilt or embarassment about it - in my mind anyway, I still wouldn't going announcing it to everyone though - although I can talk about it w/my bf or certain female friends. Anyway, those are two different things, being able to talk about it and having no guilt doing it. I have no guilt doing it.

If it helps any, note the female masturbation is very healthy for the body, circulation, sex drive; etc. I have never heard of female masturbating too much - It is always good - for the body, for the libido - so enjoy !

I know just how you feel.

Raised in a Victorian household? Me too. LOL. Who knows my parents might actually masturbate, but i don't want to know and i don't want to talk about it. I never wanted to talk about sex with my mother either. Our relationship or my shy personality made that too awkward.

I have masturbated and i have at times actually enjoyed it, but i generally just don't bother because of my inhibitions.

I don't really feel any compelling need to overcome my inhibitions....i consider masturbation like a rich dark chocolate. I don't really need to eat it every day but it's a nice treat when i want it. I'm more comfortable not masturbating generally, and i definitely don't masturbate in front of others. I need to be completely alone.

I'd say if you can do that in front of your hubbie, your more progressive than I.
