hi all i have read a lot about condoms, but why is it that spermicidal condoms are better than non? also what is the difference between nonyxl 9 and spermicidal?

well i think that the reason that spermicide condoms are better is for the simple fact that there is added protection and a little more peace of mind. as for the diff between nonoxyl and spermicide i'm not quite sure, it was always my understanding that they were the same or they do the same thing.

Spermicidal lubed condoms give you added protection, so it's a good thing. Unless of course you are allergic to it.
Nonoxyl-9 is spermicide.

I'm not too fond of them....will only use it when I absolutely HAVE to.....The ER doc I saw last year told me to avoid them if I can....used one and ended up with a nasty reaction..

i feel really irritated when we use spermicide condoms. its not even PROVEN to kill off the sperm (you can see that if you read the box) i guess in theory it's added protection. id rather use the lubricated ones, but not the ones with spermicide. makes me itchy and burns for about half an hour after sex.
